Since the beginning of the world, man has turned towards the heavens, reading in the stars the future that the passage of Time has in store for him. For Jaquet Droz, the technical nature and the precision of timepieces has always been a means of celebrating the questions raised by the arrival of each instant. The summer solstice under the sign of Cancer, the confidence of Capricorn, the forcefulness of Taurus… With its presentation of the twelve astrological signs, the "Date Astrale Zodiaque" makes this immemorial enigma a fascinating way of measuring time.

On the black opaline dial there appears one of the twelve constellations, on which each planet is represented by a diamond whose beauty shines by day, and lights up at night, while luminescent lines link the stars to each other, tracing the outline of the constellation in the darkness. On the hours and minutes counter, one of the indicators abandons the classical elegance of Roman numerals to take on the form of the corresponding astrological symbol, and confers, as night falls, an aura of magical light to the dial. Leo, Aries or Gemini, each sign has its mystery, each being has its destiny… symbolised, between five and ten o'clock, by the path travelled, on each day of each month, by the diamond of the retrograde date.

With its self-winding double-barrel mechanical movement and its rolled-edge hand-sewn black alligator leather strap, "Date Astrale Zodiaque" reflects, at any moment, the infinite poetry of Time.
