Pierre Jaquet-Droz(1721-1790), this exceptional inventor and craftsman,
fascinated and occasionnaly stunned crowned heads throughout Europe
and Asia, barely escaped the wrath and exported Swiss-designed timepieces
from London. His automatons are still enjoyed by visitors of international
museums, and by connoisseurs as well. His mechanical inventions
and refinements, the quiet elegance of his designs and their exceptional
character still endure in a number of remarkable timepieces of contemporary
craftsmanship, inscribed with the name «Jaquet-Droz». Followed by
the most talented craftsmen of the Vallée de Joux, the brand offers
a collection showing styling features reminiscent of Pierre Jaquet-Droz:
openworked lozenge pattern hands, enamelled motifs, curved fluting
on the case side, complicated watches.
