The Canapé Tourbillon
With the Tourbillon calibre 2871, Audemars Piguet
propose the world largest Tourbillon mechanism in a wristwatch of
the smallest possible dimensions. Just 6.10 mm "thin" in a case
that mesures 27.05 mm x 20.30 mm, this new scientific marvel has
146 components in total. The movement is sealed in a case of great
originality and elegance, which has a particularly interesting feature
in that the mechanism can be viewed through a pure sapphire caseback.
The name Canapé evokes the voluptuous lines of a case design inspired
by a watch first created in 1940.
