Dubey
& Schaldenbrand - "Caprice '03"… the latest addition to the "Carré
Cambré" family
In 2002, Dubey
& Schaldenbrand introduced "Vintage Caprice" - a limited-edition
very unique timepiece using the renowned Aerodyn tonneau-shaped
case.
This year, Dubey & Schaldenbrand are pleased to introduce "Caprice
'03" which offers the same features of "Vintage Caprice", this
time using the "Carré Cambré" (cushion-shaped) case.
What makes "Caprice '03" so special? Most watches have the
crown at the 3 o'clock position. "Caprice '03" has its crown
at 9 o'clock. This feature … along with the "Carré Cambré" shape
… brings to mind Dubey & Schaldenbrand's highly-sought limited edition
"Doctor" model which was introduced in 1997.
Apart from this, "Caprice '03" features many practical functions
namely … a large-size (220 degree) power-reserve indicator and …
the easy-to-read date "big date" window (with 2 separate disks).
The design and style of the dial is very "Art Nouveau". With its
retro-style hour markers and the delicate skeleton hands, this watch
definitely captures the look of the 1920's.
"Caprice '03" is limited to 250 pieces in 316 L stainless
surgical steel and … 50 pieces in 4N 18 K Rose Gold and, available
in a selection of 3 enamel-based colors - white, black or blue.
Self-winding,
automatic ETA 2892A2 movement (specially-modified for Dubey & Schaldenbrand
to include the features stated above), 22 jewels, Incabloc, Glucydur
balance wheel, Nivarox I hairspring, polished steel anker and anker
wheel, "chronometer-quality", rhodium-plated "Côtes de Genève" pearl-patterned
bridges, blued-steel screws. .
